Manny was brought to a shelter in Indiana on Christmas Eve. He had been discarded and replaced with a pup. Manny is a dignified old gent who did not deserve the fate he received! But Manny got the best retirement home a guy could ever ask for, with two of the most wonderful people in the world...Here he is with his new mom! 0102

Name: Leo
History: Puppies are irresistible, which is how puppy stores stay in business! Leo and his sibling were purchased, from a pet store, by a family unprepared for the demands of two BC pups. It wasn't long before the family realized they were in over their heads. The easy solution was to give Leo to a neighbor, who had come to know and love Leo. Unfortunately, the new family found one BC pup to be too energetic. Luckily, they contacted GLBCR to help find Leo a home, where his energy and intelligence would be welcomed.

Update: Leo found his home with the same wonderful guy who adopted Blaze.

Rodeo II was two years old when his owner died and he needed a new home. Rodeo got a great home on a farm and lots to do! He has filled a big hole in his new family's hearts. 0102

Tank is a handsome 3-year-old boy with a lovely coat of curls. He went a long way to finally arrived at his forever home - from a shelter in Arkansas, thru heartworm treatment. He now has his very own sheep farm to supervise up north! Tank shares his happy home with his mom and dad and other rescued pups! 0102

Juliet is about 2 years old, a sable and white BC. She came into rescue from the Chicago pound. Juliet got the home of her dreams, and lives with some very nice people who also rescue greyhounds. Last we heard, they recently got 3 newly retired Greyhounds + turned them out in the large triangular yard behind the kennel for a potty break. They played "tag" with Juliet for a while but soon tired. Juliet went to the far end of the yard + I turned my attention back to the mower I was fixing. When I looked back up she had them grouped tightly together + moved them to the kennel door. I guess it just proves that BC's don't care what they're herding, they just want to herd" 0102

X		 Boone comes to work every day with her mom at RMD Advertising, an advertising agency in Columbus. "Her job is very important to our team. She's the stress buster. If someone's anxiety level gets too high, she 'smells' it out, and lays that sweet little head on the team member's lap, and ZAPS it. What would I ever do without her? At home, she rests up with three little girls to watch over (in addition to her Mom, of course), and has three canine sisters, and one feline cat (she's not sure if she should call Clara Belle a sister yet).

I could go on and on ... but could never begin to thank you for saving this little girl's life, and for bringing her into our world. 24/7, Boone protects and loves her mom ... and gets enough love for a pack of Border Collies in return. Gipper... this poor pup was sent to the pound because the kids kept leaving the gate open. Bet that taught them a lesson, huh?

Update from her his new owner: "I have officially changed his name to Great Lakes Skippity-Do! Skipper, Skippy and Skip for short. He did awesome at puppy class last night and is really learning fast. He is a blast to train... He has been to the dog park three times and just has a ball playing with the other dogs... He's always got one eye on me making sure I'm not going to wander too far away. When he's playing, he'll notice I've continued walking around the park, he tears over to check in. He's such a little cutie! Our puppy class instructor just loves him and used him to demo how to teach the puppy to get into heel position." 0202

X Kemp is a traditional Border Collie name meaning "fibers in fleece" ... he has such a soft coat with a soft and gentle soul to match. He was taken to the shelter because he kept rounding up the cattle. Geez, can you imagine a Border Collie doing what comes naturally?? Kemp got lucky and found a new home with a great family, a couple of kids to be friends with. 0202
