X Molly (MaDee) The first few weeks she stayed in a little spot between the sofa and rocker. Eventually, she decided we were okay and comes out to play and to herd the cats. She is not as timid as she once was but I think she will always be a little timid. That is her nature. She avoids my husband unless he is sitting down... But I think with enough treats and enough time that might change. She is easy for my two youngest to try to train and to take on walks. She usually doesn't pull on her leash and generally doesn't try to chase anything when she is on a walk. So even my eight year old can walk her easily, which makes my daughter feel very special. Occasionally, when the girls are playing Molly tries to herd my youngest. It is interesting how Molly can figure out the family dynamics.

We continue to play frisbee with her but she doesn't particularly like to bring the frisbee back yet... I throw the frisbee, Molly chases it and brings it half way back. She then runs to the back door frantic to get in an look for the cats. I call her back and my youngest bring me the frisbee and we try again and again and again. This is her graduation picture from dog obedience class. We look forward to taking her to clicker training and to work on agility when the weather warms up. As you might expect Molly was the best student of course she was the only BC.

X Andy (was Adem) has become fully at home here.Would you believe he weighs 14.5 lbs.! And he is about 13 - 13.5 inches at his withers (its hard to get him to stand still for a measurement)! He is growing so fast! His paws reach the top of our kitchen table when he stands up! He is not the "little" puppy that we got two weeks ago from you! Andy loves to play and run outside (and inside) and has learned new skills to what he already had. He not only "stalks" but he loves to pounce and he tries to "herd" me when we run, making sure that I stay on the right track and do not veer to far from the right or the left, or get to far ahead of him. He has learned to sit on command, "come", and is starting to get the idea of "stay" and "down" and has mastered our doggie door and lifting his leg. Satchel

6/17/03 "Just wanted to let you know that Satch is doing great. He thinks he is one of the kids. All the neighborhood kids love him and he plays well with them. Working on his jumping and barking. He is signed up for obedience school starting in July. We are also looking into agility training once he completes obedience school. He is very friendly, not shy at all, alerts us when someone is coming. He does chew a lot, however, we have a lot of bones and keep all doors to bedrooms closed . As long as it is not on the floor he will not chew it. He is pretty active, so we take him for walks at the park, now that it is nice out. The kids in the neighborhood take him into their backyard and play with, him that usually tires him out . He does well in his crate and sleeps just outside of our bedrooms. He is very quiet at night."
