Jake came from Home At Last Animal Sanctuary in Salvisa KY. Don't you love those ears? He's got a brand new dad complete with a nice fenced yard to play with now! 0699 X

Jazz is one of 2 sisters who were relinquished to the Livingston County Animal Control. Her sister got adopted from rescue quickly but poor Jazz didn't. She finally found a home of her own and now has a mom that loves her and a big brother border collie to play with. 0799 X

Fly was a young girl with an outstanding herding pedigree that was sold to a family unprepared for the Border Collie lifestyle. She was then given to another family only to fall to the same fate. Fortunately, her 2nd family called rescue, and now little Fly has a wonderful home playing flyball and keeping those pesky geese away from golf courses. 0799 X

Bracken came into rescue from a "free to good home" ad in the newspaper. Bracken has been a constant joy since we first picked her up. As with all Border Collies, she is happiest chasing tennis balls and flying discs, preferably in the park...

We took her home for a family picnic this summer. There were about 30 people - over half being children. She loved the opportunity to play catch or be petted. When she wasn't the center of attention, she quietly laid in the grass intent on watching all the activity going on around her. Most of our family expressed amazement. Rhonda and I are immune since she has amazed us from day 1."  0799

Trim had quite an adventure from being on death row at a northern Michigan County Animal Control to her new home. Although she's a sweet little girl, she really needed a job. She's now living and working with her new sister Fly (below) and is the happiest little dog in the world. Here she is, hard at work at her job as a goose control dog for Fly Away Home. 0899 X

XMack was bounced around a little bit during his short life, and he arrived at GLBCR filthy and flea-ridden. Now he lives on a farm with agility equipment made just for him by his mom and dad. As you can see, he's a busy boy! "Just look at my Mack now. Isn't he something? Finally a real working Border Collie."

08/30/2007 Just would like to update Mack's (Max) life. He has been a real joy for us on the farm. We no longer have the sheep to herd but he is still a big,big help with the cows and calves. He just needs to be in the field and the cows move. He can no longer hear well but tries to help until the cows are going the wrong direction and then he just follows them the wrong way because he can't hear my commands anymore. He does react to hand signals if he looks at me. He is still a real lover for affection and has improved his house manners 100%. He loves to ride in the quad and go with me riding my horse so he is still active but gets tired easily. 1199

Hanna

8/25/2005 Hanna is always happy and is always at my side. She is my first border collie and because of her devotion and love I can't believe I didn't have a B.C. sooner. Hanna loves to run with the horses, on the other side of the fence of course. Hanna always comes when she is called, even if she knows she's done something wrong. She does agility, but lately has become a little bored with it I think, so she goes with us a lot of times now just to watch. She loves to cuddle and has become quite fond of squeeky toys. She always sleeps on the bed at my feet. There are many reasons why I love Hanna, and one of those reasons is she can be completely crazy and off the wall one minute and yet the next minute she is the most perfect, loving, calm, little lady. Hanna has made my life so much more complete and many thanks to GLBCR for letting me love and be loved by such a wonderful dog.

Alex When we adopted Alex for my daughter Megan in December of 1999, he was very submissive and timid. Alex spent all 8 weeks of his clicker training class hiding behind Megan and rolling on his back with a look on his face that said "Can we please go home now!" ... My husband built some agility equipment for our yard and ever since he has been crazy about agility. Megan has a wall covered in ribbons! The end of this past August, Alex had an unfortunate accident... We took him to the vet and found out he had dislocated his hip. He had surgery the next morning (he is now fondly known as our million dollar dog) and is making a full recovery... Alex is happy and lives with 2 other border collies, a mini aussie, and a great dane, all but one are rescue dogs. His favorite things are agility, frisbee, swimming in our pool, and sleeping in bed with Megan. We are so thankful for the opportunity to adopt Alex, he is such a sweet loveable boy and is a very important part of our family! 1299

XUpdate: Alex is doing very well... Megan wants to do therapy dog training with him, so we are looking into it.

Annie was adopted at the end of the year in 1999. I decided you definitely need another picture of the healthier, happier Annie! This picture shows Annie as the proud foster-mama of her new puppy Edith. Annie always showed maternal instincts to our cats, so we were not surprised when she took over mothering Edith. The only problem is now Edith, a pure bred Bassett Hound, thinks she's a Border Collie. She can run like a bat out of you-know-where to keep up with Annie! Annie's all time favorite activity is to swim in our pond and she does an excellent job of chasing away all those invading barn swallows, mourning doves, and any other two-winged creature who would dare to land on the shore. She also does her very best to herd the fish in the pond, but believe me, THAT'S a challenge! The other picture is of Annie with us on a canoe trip. 1299
