Update March 11, 2011:These puppies have certainly grown and changed in a single week! They are very aware, have gained weight nicely, and have met quite a few new people and dogs. They always run to greet new people, and love human interaction. I just came in from outside with Rosie, Finn, and the 2 Frenchies that are staying here, and they do very well with each dog, and each dog is very good with them, and the "big dogs" are also appropriate with them. They rough and tumble play, chase toys (especially the Teaser Balls of all sizes!), chew on and carry all kinds of other toys around outside. Inside, they LOVE the fleece tuggies I have hung, and love the Nylabone chews and the plush chews. They mostly play very well with each other, and definitely will sleep all together in a pile - or spread out. Their maturity seems to belie their age, the fact they are so bold and rather fearless, as well as some of the litter interaction can get a little tense, at times (though they all do well at shaking it off and moving away). More litter time may be appropriate IF there also was a mama-dog to help temper their tempers! The confines of the puppy pen are becoming boring for them (they broke out this morning and had a blast in our dog room! All of these pups will need people who will be able to think ahead of them. They are VERY smart and inquisitive - a recipe for trouble, I'd say! They may also be cuddle-buns, but perhaps that is just what I'm seeing right now. Have I said they love people and make amazing eye contact and beg to be picked up and held?!
PLEASE NOTE: Puppies may look like cute little balls of fluff, but they come from strong working-dog bloodlines and may not be suitable for the average pet home. This was an accidental litter and the owner had no resources to care for them or appropriately place them, so she contacted us on the advice of a friend. The puppies are microchipped, have been wormed, and have had their first vaccinations.
