ADOPTION PROCESS

Adopting a Border Collie is adopting a new lifestyle for the lifetime of the dog, and at Great Lakes Border Collie Rescue we pride ourselves on identifying the home best suited to each dog's individual personality, temperament, and activity level. Because our first responsibility is to our rescued dogs, and in order to make every placement a permanent one, we conduct a telephone interview, veterinary reference check, and home visit. This is our way of getting to know you and your family so we can be sure that every placement is a permanent one.

This is not a guarantee that the dog in which you have expressed interest is right for your home, nor that any of the dogs currently in our care at the time you apply are appropriate for your situation. If either of these situations applies to you, we ask that you have patience while we help you find just the right dog. Unfortunately, there are many Border Collies losing their homes every day. Your forever-friend may be the next one to come into our rescue program.

Our adoption donation is $265, but the love you receive in return is priceless.

What Do You Get When You Adopt?

Prior to completing an Adoption Application, please answer the questions below to indicate your understanding of the following terms:


	I understand the adoption donation is $265
	I understand it will take at least two weeks for my application to be processed & approved.
	I understand the dog whom I'm applying to adopt may no longer be available once my application is approved.
	I understand the dog whom I'm applying to adopt may not be a good match for my particular environment and, therefore, I may not be approved to adopt that dog.
